The Florence Voice Seminar 2008 will mark our eighth season in Florence.

It was started by Julian Rodescu, Laura Brooks Rice and Scott Hoerl to provide a quality summer vocal study experience for advanced sudents and young professional singers. It may be a time for great vocal progress for the university voice student or a time to polish and refresh the technique and artistry of a young singer already singing professionally. It is also a time for becoming more familiar with the Italian language, through our daily Italian Classes or just going out to the local grocery store and trying to make yourself understood.

Our philosophy is that we work together to enable the singer to make maximum progess. That includes almost daily consultations among the faculty, and a common point of view about vocal technique and presentation.

The feeling of friendship and camaraderie in the Seminar is further aided by our realization that each singer is at a different stage in his/her development, and our only goal is progress.

This year, a few voice teachers will be able to audit our program and have a chance to sit in on lessons, coachings, Master Classes and Italian Classes. It is truly exciting to watch each student's progress through this intense program.

Occasional group meals, weekend out of town trips, group cultural tours further our aim to enrich each participant's experience in Florence.
